The majority of voters cast a clear verdict to Leave the EU in the 2016 referendum. But, shockingly, significant forces within our political system and beyond refused point blank to accept that result of a national vote.
They tried to put up legal barriers to Brexit, tried to add their own conditions to the delivery of the referendum result, or simply demanded a repeat referendum hoping to get another result they preferred.
The EU referendum not only enhanced our democracy once again, but also served to expose influential figures and organisations willing to ignore and over-ride democracy.
Brexit has happened, but these anti-democrats will not have not gone away. They are inevitably already planning how to limit and dismantle democracy once again, by pushing the Britain back towards rejoining the EU. Their plans cannot be allowed to go unanswered.
The battle to Leave has been fought. But the war of ideas for retaining our regained democratic rights, alongside continued international trade and co-operation, has still to be won amongst younger generations.
Please help us in this vital, continuing work by registering your support below. It's free to register - to stay informed about our campaigns and to join in, if you can. Our campaign successes have always depended on everyone playing their part, in whatever way we all can. Each taking small steps, with big effects.
It's free to support our activities and to get involved. However, our work is funded solely by voluntary donations from individual supporters. Our average donation amount is £18, so every contribution to our campaign fund counts - and means we can pay the costs of continuing our work.
Despite the result of the EU referendum, there is still work to do to cement its democratic gains and win the war of ideas amongst younger generations on the benefits of democracy.
